Continuum 3: creatures natural
and unnatural was held at the Hilton on the Park Hotel

long weekend of June 2003. Our Guests of Honour were Neil
Gaiman, Poppy

Harland and Robin
Hobb, with James "Jocko" Allen as Fan Guest. In addition,
the convention also played host to the HarperCollins Voyager
10th Anniversary
Celebrations with many Australian Voyager authors and editors in
attendance.
Much
dancing, carousing and general making of merry was had at the Continuum

"I
love the social aspect of it. The panels are great ... but the bar
is the place to be. And not just because I'm a pisshead, but because
that's where I meet with my friends, make new friends, share ideas,
info, advice, jokes, whatever. I just have so much fun at cons.
Some of the finest people I know are part of the specfic community,
and as they all live in far-flung locations, these cons are a brilliant
chance to catch up."
"I'm looking
for this girl ... red
hood ... basket of goodies ..."
Who is that masked man?
Corsets a'plenty at the
Masked Ball this year!
"What
do I enjoy about conventions? Undoubtedly, the people. Contact with
like-minded weirdoes... er... writers and fans. I learn so much
by listening to what other writers say about their work and what
readers say about what moves them. Or what puts them off. I find
out there actually are people who love my writing; I find out that
I have touched people's lives. A convention is a wonderful learning
experience and I've never been to one yet that was long enough."
