Arrival by Shaun Tan now Online!

The illustrious Chairs
of C4, Ian Mond and Mitch, and have been interviewed by the lovely
people at Nerd
Network. So if you'd like to find out what makes Mitch and Ian
tick, what they really think of conventions, and how wrestling,
laser bolts and Doctor Who have changed their lives forever, why

24/03/06: Even More Award
Nominations!
The nominations keep
coming! We've just been made aware that Charles Stross' novel, Accelerando,
has also been shortlisted for two more awards: the 2006 Arthur
C. Clarke Award for best science fiction novel, and the British
Science Fiction Association Award for best SF/F novel of 2005.
The BSFA award is voted on by members of the BSFA, and will be announced
on April 15th at Concussion, the 2006 eastercon; the Arthur C. Clarke
award is decided by a jury of writers and critics, and will be announced
on April 25th in London. If you haven't yet read Accelerando,
it is available to download in various formats here.
Our Fan Guest of Honour,
Bruce Gillespie, has been nominated for a Ditmar
Award for Best Fan Writer. The Australian Science Fiction Awards,
commonly referred to as the Ditmar Awards, are an annual highlight
of the National Science Fiction Convention and recognise excellence
by Australians in Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror. The 2005
Ditmar Awards will be presented at Conjure
on Saturday, April 15th 2006.
And finally, it is with
great pride and just a small portion of humility that we also report
the Ditmar
Award nomination of the Continuum Committee in the category
of Best Fan Production for the Continuum 3 Convention, held in Melbourne
last July. The entire C3 committee worked extremely hard to organise
what turned out to be an absolutely massive convention last year
and we are all honoured and delighted by the Ditmar nomination.
A big thank you to everyone who nominated us for the Award, and
an even bigger one for those who will vote for us!
23/03/06: Charles Stross
& Margo Lanagan Nominated for Hugo Award!
Our wonderful Guests
of Honour keep racking up the kudos! The Hugo Award, also known
as the Science Fiction Achievement Award, is given annually by the
World Science
Fiction Society (WSFS). The award is determined by nominations
from and a popular vote of the membership of WSFS and is presented
at the annual World Science Fiction Convention. The 2006 Nominations
have just been released and Continuum is very pleased to report
that Charles Stross has been given the nod in the Best Novel category
for Accelerando, while Margo Lanagan has scored a nomination
for "Singing My Sister Down" in the Best Short Story section.
We wish both authors the best of luck in the final vote!
06/03/06: Margo Lanagan
Nominated for Nebula Award!
C4 Guest of Honour,
Margo Lanagan, has been nominated for yet another award: The Nebula.
Administered, voted and presented by the Science Fictions Writers
of America (SFWA),
the Nebula
Awards acknowledge excellence in science fiction writing. Margo's
work "Singing My Sister Down", from the Black Juice
collection, has made the final ballot in the Short Story category
and we're all keeping our fingers and toes firmly crossed for her.
If you haven't already read this award winning story, it is available
online here.
13/12/05: Membership Rates
to Rise in January!
Just a reminder that
the current Continuum 4 Membership rate
expires on 31 December 2005. So if you want the perfect Christmas
gift, then why not shout yourself, your family, your best friends,
your co-workers, the bloke down the street who looks at you funny
and that girl/guy you've been meaning to ask out but never had the
guts, a membership of C4? It's gonna be a blast! Please note, in
order to take advantage of the current low rates, your membership
form can reach us in January but the envelope must
be postmarked on or before 31/12/05.
13/11/05: Continuum Photo
Galleries Now Online!
A big thank you to everyone who sent
photographs of past Continuum conventions to us. We've now added
our Gallery pages for you to browse through and have a (hopefully
fond) chuckle over. As you'll see, things are looking somewhat sparse
for Continuum 1, so if anyone has any photos from that convention
that they'd like to see published on this site, please feel free
to send them to us. And if you haven't been to a Continuum convention
before, the Galleries will certainly give you a taste of what you've
been missing!
11/11/05: We Have a Home
- C4 Venue Confirmed!
With our venue negotiations now finalised,
we are very pleased to announce that Continuum 4 will be held at
The Victoria Hotel, located on Little Collins Street in the heart
of Melbourne's central business district. For more information regarding

07/11/05: Margo Lanagan
wins World Fantasy Award!
We are extremely proud to report that
one of our brilliant Guests of Honour, Margo Lanagan, has won the
2005 World
Fantasy Award. Two of them, in fact! Margo won a WFA for her
collection, Black Juice, and another for a short story
from that collection, "Singing My Sister Down". These
awards join her Ditmars won for the same collection and story earlier
this year at Thylacon. So, if you haven't yet read Black Juice,
go out and grab yourself a copy now. It's a truly remarkable collection
of stories and one which we can't recommend more highly. Congratulations,
Margo!

Welcome to the Continuum 4 Official

of Honour, Shaun Tan, for allowing us to decorate our pages

added some important content and will be adding more over the next
couple of weeks, including some photos from previous Continuum Conventions
... we know you're all salivating to see those! So pull up a seat

them and, as always, feedback
is most welcome.
